Conversion funnels are an idea borrowed from ecommerce to describe the path consumers travel on a website to achieve the goals of the website. The funnel is drawn with a large opening at the top and then a gradual narrowing toward the bottom accumulating at a narrow exit. The opening represents the many possible ways that people might enter your website. The narrowing of the funnel represents the click-through-rate (CTR) or the likelihood of users either abandoning the website or achieving its goals.
